Purpose of Contract:
This
contract is designed to protect all parties involved in the adoption of
a cat/kitten from Exposed - Sphynx Cattery. The contract not only serves
as a legally binding agreement between purchaser and seller, but also as
a promise of ethical and humane treatment for a living animal. The
seller agrees to sell and the purchaser agrees to buy the following:

**Seller cannot guarantee that a certain cat/kitten will perform well on show.
Other agreed upon terms:
The Purchaser Agrees to the Following:
- Cat/kitten will visit veterinarian within 48 hrs of arrival in order to
verify health. Failure to make this visit will nullify health guarantee.
- Exposed Sphynx Cattery scans annually for HCM, but due to the nature of
the condition cannot be held liable for any cat developing HCM outside of
the 12 month health guarantee.
- Cat/kitten will receive booster shots and yearly veterinary examination.
- Cat/kitten will only be allowed outside if supervised and restrained.
- Cat/kitten will be supplied with fresh water and dry food at all times.
- Cat/kitten will not be declawed.
- Cat/kitten maintenance including nail trimming, baths, and ear cleanings
will be performed regularly as needed.
- Seller shall be contacted if ownership of cat/kitten must be transferred
and has the right to have the cat/kitten returned to Exposed Sphynx Cattery
- All deposits are non-refundable.
- Purchaser is responsible for all shipping/insurance costs.
- Transfer of ownership of cat/kitten and the responsibilities thereof occurs
as soon as cat/kitten leaves the cattery.
The Seller Agrees to the Following:
- Cat/kitten has been hand-raised under-foot.
- Cat/kitten has never been abused or left without water or food.
- Cat/kitten is of social temperament.
- Cat/kitten’s health maintenance record will be provided to purchaser.
The maintenance will include spay/neuter.
- In the unlikely case that the cat/kitten which the seller has agreed to
sell cannot be delivered due to circumstances beyond the seller’s
control, any money already paid/deposited, and only these payments, shall
be returned to the purchaser. This includes, but is not limited to: accidents,
illnesses and expiration of cat/kitten. The purchaser will be given the
option of reserving the next available cat/kitten of the kind originally
purchased.
- Cat/Kitten will not have a cold or infection when leaving the cattery; however,
development of either during shipping is rather common. The seller cannot
be responsible for colds and/or infections developed during shipping.
- Cat/kitten is guaranteed to be healthy at the time he/she leaves the cattery.
This is the cat/kitten's health guarantee. If on the required initial medical
visit or a visit within six months, the purchaser's veterinarian declares
that the cat/kitten has a genetic defect that was present when leaving the
cattery, one of two things can happen: 1) Cat/kitten can be kept and proper
veterinary care administered. 2) The cat/kitten may be returned to seller
for a full refund less shipping costs. A valid veterinary health record
must be provided to the seller. Note: In extreme situations, additional
options for resolving the health issue may be available at the seller's
discretion.
